How to Get to Raja Ampat
The problem with getting to Raja Ampat Islands is that it is located in an almost remote place that is hard to reach. It will take around two hours to ferry from Sorong to Waisai, the capital city of Raja Ampat Regency. Once you get to Waisai, you can get to your destination island in Raja Ampat.
Mainly, it’s better to reach the islands through Sorong, because of the established airport and ferry terminal and also the main hub to the islands. To get to Sorong, you can take a flight from Jakarta or Makassar.
How Much It Cost to Go to Raja Ampat
As you know, the Raja Ampat’s location is particularly remote. Therefore the flight ticket to get there is rather expensive. You need more or less 4 million rupiahs for two-way tickets from Jakarta to Sorong and vice versa. Aside from the entrance fee to the islands, you have to pay 1 million rupiahs per person. Meanwhile, for the accommodation, the low-budget resorts in Raja Ampat will cost you around 350 thousand rupiahs per night. Thus, if you wish to dive or try any other attraction, then you have to pay separately.
In total, you will need around 10 million per person for a one-week gateway on this island, which is around 600 hundred US dollars. But we count this amount on a budget and it would be better to prepare for more.
